To qualify in a swimming event for the Valley Championships at the end of the season a swimmer will have to have eclipsed the time standard for that event at a sanctioned high school competition. The automatic time standard is a guarantee that you can swim that event. The consideration standard is only used if less than 32 swimmers make an automatic time standard. If less than 32 people are entered under the automatic standard then the fastest consideration times are taken until there are 32 entries. Divers can qualify for the Valley Championships by achieving a point total of 250.00 or more at a high school sanctioned 11 dive competition.
With the size of our team we have to limit how many swimmers we take to certain competitions. In order to travel with the team to out of town competitions a swimmer must have achieved at least two of these time standards at any competition in the last 12 months. A diver must have 11 dives and have been cleared to compete by the diving coach.
